Games of old: 3D Pacman

Pacman - what can I say about Pacman that hasn't already been said? Well, not a lot to be fair! It was however inspiration for a very nice first person perspective 3D game on the Speccy.

Released in 1983 for the 16K Speccy by Freddy Kristiansen 3D Pacman is a very nice little game. Navigate the maze, collect the pills - easy job! Or maybe not! It's very easy to get lost in the maze - the keep left trick not being particularly useful here. The game does however ease you in gently with no enemies on level 1, level 2 introduces you to one ghost, level 3 you'll have 2 chasing you and so on.

As well the usual guff like lives, score and level the UI shows you the number of pills you have left to collect and your current direction, it also has a simple radar that shows how close the ghosties are.

Sound is basic however there is some nice digitised speech in there.

The game can be controlled by Kempston joystick or keys.
